@healingwithchels: Sometimes the “collapse” happens when your body finally feels safe enough to stop surviving. It doesn’t always mean you’re going backward… it may mean you’re finally feeling what survival mode wouldn’t let you feel. For me, healing CPTSD has been exhausting, emotional and confusing. But absolutely worth every single difficult day.
I collapsed 5 years ago and haven’t found my way out it. I was so high functioning before and now I feel like I can’t do anything.

This sounds like the current state I’m in, and I can’t seem to get out is it.

Ebbs & flows like the ocean. I collapse at least 3 times a year. I've noticed that each time, I come back a little more, well, me than I was before. It's a process I am well adjusted to now & grateful for. I was taught what to watch for & now I listen to my body & don't push it. 🥰

skill regression and mourning the person you were or thought you could be is hard. but that wasn't you, that was your trauma driving your body. now you are you, and although it's hard, you get to choose what that means
My collapse has been the most brutal but most healing thing ever

I just moved into my first apartment, with 3 of my friends and I this sounds a lot like how I have been feeling. Its been about a month since I moved, but I havent been able to motivate myself to do anything important. I need to find a job so I can pay for this apartment and starting my new life, but I havent been able to get out of bed for weeks.

Thank you for talking about this. It’s so confusing when I handled so much more before.

This is such a great way to describe how this feels 🫂❤️😪
Wow I think I am going through this now. I’m feeling worse now, 6 months after separation from my emotionally abusive ex, than I have in a long time. I feel so safe and peaceful in my new house but also have a lot of unstructured time now that I only have my kids 50% of the time. I’m feeling every emotion that I could never afford to feel before.

Yuppppp. I left two years ago and the first year (2025) was my generator turning off. I got fired and stopped doing everything I love. This year has been about resting and being forced to rest and me realizing how numb I was when I was so “on” - but I feel the most connected when I remember who I was before everything. At my core, I’m highly motivated and confident and ambitious. I just got a great job after almost a year of unemployment and I’m being very conscious of staying grounded and tuning into my energy. I’ll never be the same high functioning, numb and traumatized little robot I was…and that’s a good thing! Slowly turning my real power source on. 💛🌞

The entire world gaslit me.. I don’t know how to move through this and heal when I can’t face it or talk to others about it.. Safety and trust doesn’t exist for me, so I find a way to mask over the illness which seems to be making it worse..
