Just a dad standing on the sideline watching his son step into another season — and I wouldn’t trade these moments for anything. We went to the season-opening open house for one of the two leagues he’ll be playing in this year, and I found myself thinking about everything that happened before today. The workouts. The repetition. The days he could’ve stayed inside playing PlayStation but chose to get up and put some work in. 💪🏾🏀 The little improvements nobody claps for because nobody sees them. That’s what makes today special. Now we get to see where that work takes him. I’m excited to watch him grow, compete, learn, have fun, and hopefully start seeing some of the benefits of the work he put in during the offseason. But more than anything, I’m grateful that I get to be there for it. 🙏🏾❤️ The practices. The rides. The conversations. The wins. The tough games. The sideline moments. The memories. One day these “little moments” won’t feel so little. Peewee league starts the journey, and when the school basketball season comes around, we’ll be right there for that too. 🏀🔥 The video might be simple… But the work behind it wasn’t.
