@margaret_caldwell: The strange symptoms are the ones that send you googling the scary things. Ringing ears. A metallic taste. Ants on your skin. Nobody types "perimenopause" into a search bar at 2am for those. I typed "early dementia," at 46, over words I couldn't find in front of my class, and I never told anyone I'd done it. When I finally went in, my doctor said my labs were normal and it was probably stress. Stress doesn't make your gums bleed. Perimenopause does. Nearly everything on that list has estrogen somewhere behind it, which is why they tend to arrive together. Two of them need more than a list, though: a pounding heart and dizziness get checked, every time, even when they turn out to be this.
