@penny96701: Today, I met Simon and took him grocery shopping for some food. I first met Simon about a year and a half ago on Queen Street. He was sitting there with his head down, humbly trying to sell his drawings. Since then, whenever I see him, I always try to give him some breakfast or lunch. What touched me most was that he never asked for more than what he needed. I always felt that he had a genuinely good heart. He once gave me some of his drawings, and I still remember that kindness. When I meet people, I try not to judge their lives or the circumstances they are in. I believe we never truly know someone’s story. Today, when Simon saw me, he was so happy. But he was also starving and had only 60 cents in his pocket. So I took him to New World and bought him some groceries. On the way, a homeless woman asked Simon, “Do you have 40 cents you could spare?” And Simon gave it to her. 🥺 I asked him, “Simon, why did you give her your money when you hardly have anything yourself?” His answer touched my heart: “Because you are treating me well today, so I have to treat others well too.” That little sentence stayed with me. Maybe this is how life is meant to be. When someone shows us kindness, we don’t have to keep it for ourselves. We can pass it on to someone else who needs it. Today, Simon reminded me that kindness doesn’t depend on how much we have. Thank you, Simon, for reminding me of that. ❤️ And thank you, Penny, for today. 🤍
