@beautifulfloweraesthetic: I honestly debated on posting this. Not because I’m embarrassed, but because I don’t want a pity party. I don’t want anyone to feel bad for me. I want people to SEE what owning a small business actually looks like sometimes. Today, I showed up. I promoted. I posted. I prepared. I gave up a beautiful Saturday with my family to be at my walk-in day… and for HOURS, nobody came. And yeah I broke down. I questioned myself. I questioned whether I was doing too many walk-in days. Whether people even cared. Whether I was wasting my time. Whether I was doing something wrong. I even started packing up for my event tomorrow. And then… FOUR people walked in. 😭 Right when I was ready to call the entire day a failure, everything changed. And THAT is why I decided to share this. Because I want people to see: What being a business owner looks like on the days that aren’t pretty. How quickly a “bad” day can completely turn around. Why showing up consistently matters even when nobody is showing up for you yet. And most importantly, how much COMMUNITY matters to a small business. Sharing a post is FREE. Tagging a friend is FREE. Reposting a story is FREE. Telling someone, “Hey, you should check this place out!” is FREE. But to a small business? Those tiny actions can mean someone new discovering us, walking through our door, making a purchase, becoming a regular, and telling someone else. Social media usually shows you the finished jewelry, the busy walk-in days, the pretty suite, the smiling clients and the wins. It doesn’t always show you the hours sitting in an empty room wondering if anyone is coming. I’m still building my community. I want Beautiful Flower Aesthetics + Luxe Charm Bar to become one of those local businesses people naturally talk about, tag their friends in, share and think of when someone asks for a recommendation. And I know that doesn’t happen overnight. Today reminded me that consistency isn’t just showing up when the room is full. It’s showing up when it’s empty, too. One slow day doesn’t mean your business is failing. Apparently, one slow HOUR doesn’t even mean your day is failing. 😂 Because today I went from crying and packing everything up a little early to four people walking through that door and ending the day with even a few sales. So I’m posting the part I almost kept to myself. Because maybe one day I’ll watch this back during a walk-in day with a line out the door and remember the days when I prayed for exactly that.
