@upspiral.life: Replaying the argument in your head is training you to stay angry. Three steps to shut it down. Follow me then comment UPSPIRAL and I'll send you more information about my programs. You can also click the link in my bio. Every time you replay the betrayal, rehearse the fight, repeat your point one more time in the shower, you're running a rep. Neurons that fire together wire together. Hebb's law. You build the circuit the same way you'd build a guitar callus. Reps. Anger lives in the amygdala. That's your threat center, your alarm system. Practice anger enough and you upgrade the alarm until it's a smoke detector that screams every time you make toast. So upgrade something else instead. Name it. Out loud or under your breath: a part of me is really pissed off right now. Neuroscience calls that affect labeling. It pulls resources out of the amygdala and hands them to your prefrontal cortex. Alarm down. Perspective up. Flip it. Ask what the upside is. What's the win. What's hidden in this. Every problem comes wrapped around an opportunity and your job is to find it. Looking for it trains your salience network, the part of your brain that decides what matters. Do it long enough and you become an opportunity magnet. Encode the win. Write it down. Notes app, napkin, whatever you've got. Get it out of your head and into the world. That fires your language and memory centers and tells your brain this one is worth keeping. Problems are guaranteed. So are the opportunities buried inside them. Don't waste the difficulty. Use it as fuel. #UpSpiralLife #AngerManagement #Neuroplasticity #EmotionalRegulation #RetrainYourBrain

Absolutely! Life is all about how you choose to see it, absorb it and respond to it!

Sounds good but I feel like all the advice I’ve read lately is deny and give up and then do nothing .

You will always regurgitate the pain that you feel was never heard. That’s the key to stopping being stuck!

Hack for feeling anxious?🫠 I’m struggling to sit down and study because I just feel so anxious…over what? IDK.

Thanks Mike. All well reasoned and well explained. Something about the video context/background was distracting or more heavily weighted (in my attention) than your message. FWIW

I hate moving, but I will be reunited with the love of my life. I hate packing these boxes, but I’m going to unpack it with my husband.
