Basic Training Fort Jackson SC. We were not able to watch or read about what happen. Didn't see and pictures until Friday Night while on Fire Watch. Someone snuck a newspaper into the barrecks.

I walked into an 8th grade classroom where I was going to teach religion. The news was on and we watched the second plane hit. After the towers fell, the local radio station called me to go on the air and speak words of encouragement and hope as well as pray.

Math teacher turned it off cuz we had to take a quiz. Social studies had it on TV but we were so confused. English teacher was in the hallway crying and crying she left us alone 😭

I was hone that morning watching the news, on the phone with my brother who was in another state. I went to work for my 1:30 to 10 shift at KB TOYS. We got word to close the store a few hours after that. So I went hone and watched more news channels.

I had slept in a chair at my parents to drive them to the airport on 9/11. They were traveling to Baltimore via Reagan international. My wife called and said, what are you doing? I replied, trying to get some sleep B4 driving to the airport. She said, turn on the TV. I soon realized my parents weren't flying anywhere... Anytime... Soon.
