Fight Friday: Day 222 of healing Stage 3 Cholangiocarcinoma. THIS is what community looks like. I’m not crying, you’re crying. Our amazing baseball team dads planned a surprise lunch and Cubs game for Adam to celebrate finishing chemo and it turned into one of those days we’ll never forget. Cancer is a hell I wouldn’t wish on anyone. It is exhausting. It’s scary. It’s isolating. It F’ing sucks. If we didn’t have our community, we’d be toast. Since November, people have shown up for us in ways both big and small. Daily texts. Prayers. Meals. Rides for our boys. Gift cards. Hugs. Checking in even when they didn’t know what to say. Just showing up. Every single act of kindness has helped carry us through. This day was a reminder that even in the hardest of times, there is still joy. There is still laughter. There are still people reminding you that you’re not fighting alone. A special thank you to our planner-in-chief, @billstewart0713 , who pulled this off without Adam knowing. To all of our baseball dads, some of the best men on the planet, thank you for showing up for Adam. To @happycamperchicago for helping make the day special. And, to all the strangers who joined in cheering for Adam, thank you for making him feel celebrated. A quick update: Adam’s next Histotripsy procedure is June 24, and his next scan is July 9. So if you’ve made it this far, stop scrolling for a second and send up a prayer, a good vibe, positive energy, whatever speaks to you. Pray for a successful procedure. Pray for shrinking tumors. Pray for a surgical option to cure. Pray that this cancer is officially and completely F’ing all the way off. And, if you know someone going through this, send them a message that you’re thinking about them. Sometimes that’s all it takes to make their day brighter. Thank you for walking this road with us. ❤️ Holly & Adam #fcancer
