WE JUST MADE THE FINAL MORTGAGE PAYMENT. TOGETHER. 😭🏡🤍 I don’t even know how to write this. Tonight, my husband and I sat down together and made the FINAL MORTGAGE PAYMENT. The FINAL one. And I keep thinking about how many times I imagined this moment. I thought this was a moment that would happen decades from now. I thought we would spend the next 20 or 30 years making payments, watching that balance slowly inch its way toward zero. I never imagined that 53 days could change everything. But y’all… YOU CHANGED OUR LIVES. 😭 We started this journey with $67,676.60 of debt. And tonight, my husband and I made the payment that finished off our mortgage. OUR HOME IS PAID OFF. There is something so incredibly emotional about sitting beside the person you love and realizing that the weight you both carried for years… IS GONE. I got to look at my husband and make the final payment with him. No more secret. No more sneaking around. No more calculating in the middle of the night. No more wondering how long it would take. Just us. Sitting together. Paying off our home. 😭😭😭 I thought this moment belonged somewhere in our distant future. Y’all brought it to us now. Every person who followed. Every person who commented. Every person who shared. Every person who liked. Every person who bought a loaf. Every person who bought Rosie. Every person who bought a recipe. Every person who contributed. Every person who prayed. Every person who simply watched and cheered us on. YOU WERE A PIECE OF THIS. You helped move a mountain I genuinely thought would take us decades to move. And I will never, ever be able to adequately explain what that means for our family. Tonight, I get to look at my husband and say: WE’RE HOME. Not just because we own the house.
