There are lots of places that have good Vietnamese food outside of a Vietnam but I find Toronto is unique because its one of the few places where you can regularly find Northern Vietnamese dishes. There's a restaurant near me that serves pho sot vang which is a very northern dish. It's beef pho cooked in a red wine broth, you don't find it outside of Vietnam often but it's in Toronto.

It also has one of the best Chinese food in Metropolitan Toronto including Markham and Mississauga.

I remember meeting John at Dundas Square when he came for prescreening of Harold & Kumar. They both came out again after the screening to thank the movie goers for their support. That was over 20 years ago if I remembered correctly.
