Day 1 - Let’s Go! Seems pretty OTT, to make a whole club/movement/workbook and then launch the first reel about just being us, hanging out in our garden. But the truth is, this is exactly why the club exists. The purpose isn’t to add more expectations to your (already full) plate, it’s to consciously add more value and intention to your time together as a family. Of course we play in the garden sporadically over the course of the week, but it is rare for all of us, to be all in, phones down (airplane mode on), and intentionally hanging out, with no other side quest, other than having fun. It was the most weekend Wednesday ever, except even on the weekend, we will normally be trying to check as many items as possible off the checklist, and this is why it felt so different. At this stage of the club, we are merely laying the foundations of the academic year to come, and if this is how good our garden felt, I for one, cannot wait to properly use all the ideas and inspiration in my guide to get going and adventure-maxxing tf out of our more limited time together as a family. I also observed the most beautiful thing - my big dude (4yo) who was a bit fractious at the end of school, ended his day on a high. If we’d stayed inside, he would have probably fallen asleep on the sofa after dinner. The indoor wallows, were genuine outdoor stoke and my biggest takeaway was that, even when my initial thoughts were “maybe he is too tired for it this week” to always channel the mindset “it’s better to try and fail, than never try at all” Here’s to trying - you might just pleasantly surprise yourself! Comment CLUB if you want me to send you a link to purchase the guide, direct to your inbox. Big Love, Ro xx #afterschooladventureclub
