@tavelarocque: Day 94 of the @HigherUpWellness speak your mind challenge. everyone in prison isn't evil. everyone in church isn't good. we judge people by the category they're in, the uniform, the building, the record, the reputation, and mistake it for their heart. but a cage can hold an innocent man, and a pew can hold a cruel one. and if this sounds familiar, it should. some of the most beautiful books in the new testament were written from a prison cell. and the people who had christ killed were the most religious men of their day. even he refused to judge by the label, he looked at a thief dying on the cross beside him and promised him paradise. so stop reading the container and calling it the person. the worst people can have the best reputations, and the ones everyone wrote off can have the cleanest hearts. judge the fruit, not the label. that was always the one measure that was real. #faith #christianity #judgment #character #philosophy
