a Dr tried to give me tramadol today. When I said no way, he said take half, me nope, him 1/3, me I'll buy it if I become desperate 😅

I have MCAS but I have the opposite issue. I have to take higher than average doses of a lot of meds for them to even work. It’s like I just dont metabolize them.

How is MCAS diagnosed? Doctors keep saying my son doesn't have MCAS and that everything looks normal, but then all of the meds they have him in so he can eat are typically used for MCAS......getting answers feels impossible

I never take the full dose on supplements at first. last time I did I had horrible cramping that lasted hours and that was a multivitamin 😮. I haven't officially been diagnosed but having to take Zyrtec for over 30 years to avoid pressure induced hives and near constant nasal congestion in addition to some new perimenopauseal developments points toward MCAS 😂😱

I have MCAS pretty bad and I am the opposite. Meds don’t work well. I have pretty high doses because the “typical” starting does nothing.

Yes!!! You are the first person in a medical profession I’ve heard say this. I always start at a fraction of a regular dose and titrate up. I open capsules up and add to water or ask for chewable versions so I can cut up the meds.

I had a full-body itch w rash w montelukas, started at wk 2 progressed to full-body by wk 3 so I stopped the meds and took another wk to clear. Dr told me it "couldnt happen"...but yet...it did

You are the first doctor, until recently, in my life that gets this. I finally started doing this on my own until I found a doctor who actually listens and trusts me. He doesn't know the mechanism, but believes me and lets me go slow and/or never increase.

Told my dr today that another doc has started me on 0.1mg of a med (4% of the normal starting dose). She asked if we could start any lower. Mam, this med , 0.1mg is basically like one tear drop of liquid, I don’t think it’s possible 😅 but I appreciate her concern for my safety
