this happened to my brother and his gf at the time (now wife) they were invited to a destination wedding in Fiji, paid for everything etc then got uninvited so they went on a holiday anyway.. in the exact same hotel as the wedding, the reception everything was in a public area so they were there dancing on the dance floor right next to the wedding they were uninvited to 🤭

I didnt even have a 'destination' wedding. But most of our guests traveled from multiple states away. There was no expectation of gifts. We didnt even have a registry! Told everyone if they wanted to they could contribute to our honeymoon fund, but it wasn't expected!

I got invited to a destination bachelorette which I turned down, then I later got invited to the destination wedding which I also turned down as it was going to cause 20k to attend (10 if just me) and we were in the middle of finalizing buying our house, I just genuinely couldn’t afford to go. I was actually shocked to receive an invite for somewhere so expensive tbh. Anyways, I gave a heartfelt apology and explained the situation, I even sent flowers and a letter as though I was giving a speech for them to arrive home to. The bride said it was ok and that she understood but, we are 12 years out now and she hasn’t spoken to me since. I found out after that I guess she wanted me to be IN the wedding, but she never even asked me!
