Sharing the process of building 5 pounds of muscle ✨ I’m ~6 months postpartum and have finished breastfeeding. I got a DEXA scan, and as I expected, I gained fat and lost muscle. I felt the strongest I’ve ever felt when I was pregnant, and I’m pretty sure I gained muscle. But postpartum was a different story (sharing more on a podcast soon). I was expecting to lose muscle and gain fat, so I had no adverse reaction to those numbers - which is huge because a past me would have spiraled. But I’m finally in a place where I’m committing to building muscle, and I’m going to share the process. I want to show that it doesn’t have to be scary and that you don’t have to wreck your body or have unsustainable eating habits. I’ll be sharing my workouts and food on feed and stories. My goal with ALL my content is to educate and inspire you that Gentle Consistency is the secret sauce. Here’s my rough plan: 👇🏽 Training: ✨5x/week @evlofitness track ✨Daily walking, hiking, tennis, or one of the lower intensity Evlo cardio classes ✨1 high intensity class/week - either Cardio Burst or REHIT Nutrition (not my area of expertise; see a RD if you have further questions): ✨Eat at maintenance calories on average ✨Eat 120g of protein daily ✨5g of creatine daily ✨Enjoy fun foods and occasional margaritas on the weekends Looking forward to sharing this process!! PS: I respectfully request no comments about my decision to stop breastfeeding. I was exclusively pumping, and I’m proud of myself for making it this far. We’re all in a good place! 💓 #bodyrecomposition #buildingmuscle #postpartumjourney
