Canada’s “strategic partnership” with China is a real policy shift, not a theory. After the January deal, Ottawa reopened high level channels and then held the first military coordination talks with China in eight years, announced by Beijing, confirmed later by Canada. That in and of itself should be concerning to Canadians. The risk is not a formal alliance. It is sticky dependence which includes market access and investment in exchange for Chinese leverage over supply chains, plus security contacts that erode U.S. trust while giving Beijing political cover. The “public safety” pillar and the secrecy around the September 4 meeting matter because influence and espionage do not need a treaty. Diversifying trade is one thing. Quietly restoring military talks with a state Ottawa recently called a top threat is another. Canadians should demand what is off limits, full disclosure of the new channels, and whether canola and EVs are worth reopening that door.

Definitely not just saying but I think it’s crazy how since 2014 this war in Ukraine Vladimir Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin do they all start with Vladimir and I mean the amount of money that’s gone over there could it have possibly been a strategic move to get a bunch of those Ukrainians into Canada because I’m wondering why there’s Canadian now Canadian refugees from Ukraine that are soldiers shouldn’t they be in their own country fighting with the Canadian troops that have sent over there or the equipment billions of dollars then you gotta think when Justin froze the assets of Vladimir Putin‘s and the big cargo plane they’re now China and the deal with the submarines but just think 2014 and ongoing.
