"AI didn't cure cancer and fix the problems we promised because the bad government slowed us down, it wasn't us being snake oil salesmen. Keep buying our stocks though." - Every Tech Broligarch

“We need oversight and governance because we have over leveraged everything. Our bubble is about to pop and we are still holding the bag. Consolidate us, nationalize us, and let our mistake sink the federal government.”

Today’s letter was feeling like market manipulation of AI related stocks, to balance things while oil is too volatile.

Yep and they’re positioning themselves for bailout money for When earnings come out they will say they need money to slow it down. Using fear to give them our money to fix their “problem” ai ending us is not even a real concern in the immediate future but earning is a concern for them

I didn’t know about the essay but yes, the pattern was there and visible. Too coordinated to not be pre-planned. So they don’t perish when the big bubble pops

They just want to entrench themselves as the monopoly by creating regulations that make it too difficult for new entries into the field. They also want to get rid of open source for the same reason.

Either this or they want AI to run amok so they can start committing cyber crimes and just blame the AI.

they’re just trying to stop the ai bubble from popping. if we all buy into this “slow down for longevity”, the market buys into more long-term growth

This makes sense. I have worked with AI in scientific contexts and the abilities of AI seem overstated. So I have had to use AI for work, as in scientific work where AI use makes sense…it’s BAD at a lot of tasks, it’s really good for rapidly processing data, and automating tasks. However it doesn’t do well on most tasks scientists do because the problem is that AI is poisoned with a LOT of bad data because…SHOCKER humans are WRONG A LOT!!!! So I was really sceptical based on my own experience of using AI on the FRONTIERS of science and also I read their section on bioweapons and AI creating bioweapons…the chemical process for making VX nerve agent is on Wikipedia... also AI is REALLY bad at coming up with NEW stuff. It’s pretty great at data analytics but it can’t generate new ideas. So the idea that AI could come up with some novel bioweapon is a bit crazy. So it felt like they were overstating the risks which WHY would they do that???? Why would they create public backlash against their own product? OH THEY WANT AN ANTI TRUST EXCEPTION…

Reality is all this rhetoric is about one thing ,money . they’re afraid that the bubble will burst and that they will be out of luck. so they’re taking this whole false narrative, to ensure they will get a bailout. Just remember the billionaire class does not care about humanity just about themselves.

The entire point of letting these companies run free is to swoop in and regulate when the government feels confident about the tech. Had they passed regulation, it would’ve stifled progress. The AI bubble won’t burst per se. These companies will become part of the department of defense and receive unlimited funding by 2028.

The most important part of this essay, in my view, is that it argues that the United States cannot afford to let China win the AI race. That opens the door to using national security as a justification for protecting private capital.

they're just trying to avoid the AI bubble that's about to pop. trying to slow it down. and remove public resistance. which can force the AI bubble to pop early
