I worked full time all during college. Lived on homemade tortillas, canned beans, and bulk cheese. And rice. Had roommates ( some from hell) the entire five years. It was my economic level and the price I had to pay to become an educated person. After that I’ve had an amazing life. Was it worth it? Absolutely.

same here! i just finished my bachelors. it’s not fair at all. we have to provide for ourselves and look at for ourselves, other people are lucky to have families or support. the bright side is you are much more capable of taking care of yourself and you be much stronger once you’re done with school for it as well!! best of luck 🤍

I had over 400k in scholarships and they’ve gone to waste since i couldn’t find a way to move into my dorm. I’ve been on my own since i was 17. Now I’m 19 and I have to choose between education or being homeless. I’m hoping I can receive some scholarships back when I enroll this summer

I was getting paid $1.5k a semester to go to college, plus had housing paid off so no rent, plus had a seasonal job to earn extra cash after the first summer. my financial aid decreased and now I'm having to pay $1-2k just to keep registering for my classes, and I have $35 to my name with appointments coming up, phone bill to pay, and somehow being unable to land another job in my college town despite trying since July of 2024. now I wont even be working this winter because if other circumstances and have to resort to either begging my parents to pay for the next semester or apply to student loans.

I did the same. My final year of college I was ghosted by the internship I had worked at for over a year. I ate beans, rice, and corn for every meal for 9 months and hit the food pantry often. That helped stretch the last of my savings till I finally caught a break. I held up to 3 part time jobs while going to school full time but i graduated debt free 🤪

I worked 2-3 part-time jobs in high school and college and was still dead broke after I graduated. It’ll come back in time as long as you apply yourself and your degree to the post-grad job search! Good luck!

most colleges have resources on campus for all of the students that are doing it alone like us. see if they have a food pantry/area for students to get hygiene products for free. mine saved me so much money (but i still had to drop out anyway). lean on every single student resource. sending love your way, you’ll make it through 💕
