Korea: More than 600,000 served while the military moved toward integration. 8. Vietnam through Afghanistan: Black Americans continued serving in every branch and at every command level. Many returned to segregation, racial violence, redlining, and unequal access to GI Bill education and housing benefits. After the Civil War, “40 acres and a mule” was reversed, forcing thousands of freed families from distributed land. Trump also said America lacks money for reparations while promising every adult $5,000 in the same speech. Reuters estimated his proposal at $1.35 trillion and reported no clear funding plan. H.R. 40 does not authorize payments. It creates a commission to study slavery, later discrimination, and possible remedies. Debate cost, eligibility, funding, and policy. Do not label people disloyal for seeking an honest accounting of history. Black Americans have fought, bled, died, worked, built, paid taxes, expanded freedom, and strengthened this country from its beginning. Criticizing injustice is not hatred of America.

Look at the big picture with your little mind: Reparations could actually stimulate the American economy in a major way. People laughing at the idea are looking at it as if money would simply be given away and disappear. That's not how an economy works. Much of that money would be spent on homes, businesses, education, vehicles, investments, debt repayment, and other goods and services. Businesses would benefit from that increased economic activity, meaning some of the same people opposing reparations could ultimately profit from the additional spending. You also have to look at the bigger picture. If reparations successfully increase wealth and economic stability in Black communities, they could potentially reduce reliance on some government assistance programs and address some of the economic conditions associated with crime and poverty. Those effects could produce savings for government over time. So instead of only asking, "What will reparations cost?" we should also be asking, "What could America gain economically from reparations?" You don't have to agree with reparations, but you should at least look at the entire economic picture instead of assuming that helping one group means everyone else loses.
