He grew up speaking Arabic, I grew up Australian and Catholic-adjacent, and somewhere in the middle of that we built a whole marriage, a home, and now a toddler who says mashallah in one sentence and swears like a wharfie in the next. Nobody handed us an instruction manual. We’re making this up as we go, on purpose, out loud, and most days it’s the best decision either of us ever made.
