![Was it worth it...? 👇🌳💦 We sure think so… [📌details below / save for planning / ad] We’ve always associated these ancient trees with southern lakes and swamps, so when we found out that we could visit the largest, northernmost naturally occurring Bald Cypress forest just 2 hours from DC in @Visit Delaware WE WERE STOKED… —> Logistics for visiting… 📍 Trap Pond State Park, Sussex Co, Delaware 🗓️ Open year round, 8AM - sunset 🎟️ $4 for DE residents/$8 non-residents 🚘 2hrs from DC & Baltimore 🌳You can see some of these trees from the shore but to experience the actual forest, you’ll have to take a pontoon tour ($8pp) OR you can rent a kayak to paddle deeper into the forest ($10 per hour/$50 for the day). ‼️Be sure to call ahead to check if the boathouse is open before going OR plan to bring your own kayak‼️ 🚢 Pontoon tour and boat rentals run from mid-April to November— tour tickets can be reserved online.
