DSM here, it really depends. We do have an interview guide however it’ll be something along the lines of: why do you wanna work at Spirit Halloween? what’s a memory you have of walking into a spirit Halloween? Do you have a problem with asking for donations? Do you have any restrictions, i.e. lifting climbing, etc. etc.? what’s your availability like? Definitely be enthusiastic and be very open and bubbly. But like not over the top obviously. Hope you get it… I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Be very confident in your answers if they ask, have you done anything before example have you worked in retail you could literally lie and be like yes I worked at such in such place. They will never know and they’re gonna train you anyway, so it doesn’t even matter. If they ask you what made you wanna work there? You could literally say I love Halloween and I look forward to going to Spirit Halloween every year which made me want to apply don’t be afraid of lying into your way of getting the job

are you going to show up and do it with enthusiasm? That’s basically all you have to do these days to get a job. Most start and never come back because they have to work on Saturdays and have something else I’d rather do. Have a good work ethic and your set.

I’m probably too late to answer for you, but for anyone else who needs to hear it- my first year (last year) I was asked if I had ever been let go from a job, have I left without giving a notice, what I would do if I saw one of my coworkers stealing or doing something wrong, am I comfortable asking for donations, what I would bring to the job, can I work Halloween, what’s my availability. My 2nd year, which is this year, I wasn’t given an interview. My DM reached out to me to see if I wanted to return, told me to reapply, I reapplied as sales associate, then got the email that I was promoted to ASM.

I had that job in 2022 it was the worst. They silently terminated me. Stopped scheduling me for shifts , would lie about when I’m scheduled so when I showed up they would tell me to go home even though I WAS ON SCHEDULE for that day. Always wanted everything done in timely manner which was impossible times. One day they stopped scheduling even though I never quit that job. Only got scheduled once a week or two for 4 hours and made $500 the entire month I was working there. Not worth it
