Their conflict post OG has always been super interesting to me. In OG Sephiroth saw him as just an annoyance and not even worth worrying about but post OG he realizes his mistake and will continuously chase him down. Maybe out of a twisted respect, hatred, or curiosity, Sephiroth will always be the shadow behind Cloud. But maybe Revelation will change that

there was a fic I read where seph gets resurrected by Zack and aerith, sane and remorseful and cloud and tifa take him in.. and he repents, but like.. cloud and seph get kinda bored and just 'hey.. wanna like.. train..?' bc they're the only two super soldiers and no one else can really keep up and they get scolded by tifa bc they both come back with black eyes it's great

Smash is fucking funniest of them all. Sephiroth didn't *have* to make it that big of a spectacle but he absolutely wanted the rest of the cast to *despise* Cloud for concealing this inevitability from them.
