There are multiple reasons why people do this. Fear of being alone comes to mind. People especially if they are getting older might start to panic and rush to marry especially if kids are desired. Another reason would be a desire for stability. Most of these people probably had a very chaotic dating lifestyles and marriage sounds appealing because it's stable. Another reason would be the "marriage will fix me" type of thinking. Some people have this fairy tale belief that marriage "fixes" everything but they soon learn it doesn't. It's like that old saying "Men marry hoping she will never change and women marry hoping to change him, both will be disappointed". 🤣👍
