@one.piece1.2: I randomly came across an old book called The Children of Mu… and immediately thought of One Piece. 👀 Mu is a legendary lost civilization said to have disappeared beneath the ocean, taking its history with it. Now compare that to One Piece: • A mysterious Ancient Kingdom • A lost history erased from the world • The Void Century • A world slowly swallowed by the sea • And an ancient civilization whose true history remains hidden… Then there’s Imu. In Japanese, Imu is written as イム (Imu), and the character refers to themself as “Mu.” Even crazier: Japan has a famous magazine called MU (ムー), named after the legendary lost civilization. It has been published since 1979, covering lost civilizations, ancient mysteries, and unexplained phenomena. Oda was born in 1975, meaning the Mu mythology and the magazine were already part of Japanese pop culture while he was growing up. Is this just an incredible coincidence? Or did Oda take inspiration from the legend of Mu when creating the mysteries surrounding Imu and the Ancient Kingdom?
