I tend to believe in soul mates according to this post. 1) because I’ve been suffering like a MOTHERFUCKER and 2) Carrie Bradshaw would be the last person I’d consider for real dating advice 😂 If it wasn’t meant to be, it wasn’t meant to be. I’d rather make things work in the cab I get into than run around looking for just the right cab.

I’ve spent years thinking about this. Soulmates are not romantic if you try to think about it mechanically. If we’re destined to be together because of fate or whatever then how is that different from living in a simulation? If we’re together because fate wills it, then it’s least romantic outcome. Your decisions are not truly your own and your actions inevitably lead you to the right person at the right time. It’s not a choice of you, but a fixed path. But if we have free will, we can’t be destined for anything ergo soulmates. So my belief is that someone who chooses you everytime is better than a soulmate, because they don’t simply do it because they think it’s meant to be, but because they want it to be.

There are soulmates, but they don't exist for everyone, nor do they always reincarnate at the same time, exist in the same dimension, or take the same form. Most times, they end up watching over you and loving you from afar. I’ve always thought the concept of soulmates to be nonsense. All it takes is for two people to grab on to one another & not let go. There does not need to be any more of a connection than that commitment. Change my mind. 🤷♂️
