Hemophilia NCLEX Quick Study Guide 🩸👇🏻 Hemophilia is a bleeding disorder where the blood can’t clot properly because of missing clotting factors. Even a small injury can lead to prolonged bleeding and internal bleeding is the BIG danger the NCLEX wants you to recognize. ✨ Key things to know: • Bleeding into joints = hemarthrosis (pain, swelling, stiffness) • Watch for bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, and blood in urine/stool • Avoid IM injections and rectal temps • Hold pressure longer after blood draws • Soft toothbrush + electric razor only • Safety is PRIORITY — prevent falls and injury 💉 Treatment: Factor replacement therapy is the main treatment. The NCLEX may ask about giving clotting factor before surgery, dental work, or after injury. 🚨 NCLEX Red Flags: • Head injury in a patient with hemophilia = EMERGENCY • Sudden headache, vomiting, confusion, or neuro changes could mean internal bleeding Memory trick: “Hemo-PHILIA = loves to bleed.” Think prolonged bleeding and protecting the patient from injury. You do NOT need to memorize everything overnight. Focus on priorities, safety, and recognizing life-threatening signs first. One topic at a time and you WILL get there. 🤍 DM “SIMPLYNCLEX” and I’ll send you more info and get your passing with confidence! 🙌🏻 Hope this helps and reshare to help another nursing buddy 🔁 ✨FOLLOW✨ for more NCLEX prep tips all things nursing! 🩺👩🏼‍⚕️ #NCLEX #nclexprep #StudyTips #nursingschool #nursingstudents
