@maliciouslymaxine: September 13 🤍 Some puta had the AUDACITY to slide into my DMs last night and tell me I should’ve stayed in an abusive relationship so my children could “have a father.” Absolutely the fuck not. My son’s father’s biggest flex is that he is a father to BOTH of his children. Emphasis on BOTH. Whether he likes me, hates me, talks to me, doesn’t talk to me, sleeps with me, doesn’t sleep with me… none of that determines whether he shows up for his kids. THAT is what parenting is. We need to stop telling women they have to stay in abusive, toxic, or unsafe relationships just so their children can have two parents under one roof. A mother should not have to sacrifice her safety, sanity, or peace to convince another adult to parent the children they helped create. And women, we have to stop believing we can force somebody into being an active parent. You cannot love, beg, argue, threaten, or sacrifice enough to make someone choose their children. Parents should choose their children every single day. Period. Sometimes the healthiest thing a mother can teach her babies is that love should never require surviving someone. THISSS!! All of this!!!!!! My baby dad was abusive towards me but we were young and deep in addiction, doesn’t excuse his behavior and while I did stay for many years “for our kids” I woke up one day and realized yeah this is FUUUUCKED. For a woman to EVER recommend staying with an abuser is just WILD! ILY girl!!
