@rorydouglasmusic: We spent a month driving around the whole of New Zealand’s South Island, and these 5 campsites were fantastic without breaking the bank! 😍 There are so many free / cheap campgrounds around the island, you really don’t need to spend much on sites unless you’re staying around Queenstown (where there are no free ones!) 😂 Getting the DOC site pass was perfect for us, because it meant their sites worked out super cheap per night! 👌🏼 Sadly they’ve changed it now though and you can’t buy a month’s pass anymore, but you should still check to see if the other passes would be worth it for your plans!
