As a senior in HS, when I got a part time job, I started bringing food home, running out to get last minute stuff, I was already cutting the yard. Felt good to contribute.

my kids were teenagers when their father stopped paying child support. I was a month away from losing my house. They stepped up and gave me money every month. We kept that house for another year and a half before I sold it. And I couldn't have done that without my children. My teenagers showed more responsibility than their father. Huh, maybe that's why they haven't spoken to him in almost a dozen years🤔

Helps In 2 ways. #1 - reassures us that you’re ready for adulthood and we did a good job. It’s a relief to know if something happens to us, you’re gonna be OK because you’ve got the skills you need. #2. it is literally one less bill, one less chore, one less ask, one less nagging conversation for us if y’all do something proactively.

I can’t even express how correct you are. I try to tell my 21 year old daughter how much it means to me to come home from work to a completely cleaned kitchen. I love that she does this for me without me ever asking🥰

Mine doesn’t contribute financially but she pays attention and helps me out tremendously. Today she said I see you didn’t get time to make mashed potatoes last night, I can make them today. When I work 60 hr weeks she will go grocery shopping for me 🥺 she’s helpful
