Read her comics please. Carol Danvers is such a complex interesting character whose arcs are more about personal and emotional fulfillment (at least in the earlier runs) I started reading the comics not expecting to resonate with her but she’s one of my favorites actually. The movie adaptations just picked up on a really weird point in her character arc so the whole thing feels a little off comparatively 😭

I know the biggest thing that pissed people off was the actress saying she could lift Thor’s hammer. So I think it’s a mixture of her interviews leading up to the movie and her character was boring in comparison to a lot of other Marvel characters. I don’t think it’s misogyny like everyone always says because I’ll never forget being in the theater when they showed her symbol pop up on the screen and everyone absolutely lost it with excitement. There are so many guys that are a fan of Captain Marvel but didn’t like the movies.
