That’s what confuses me too, some of the workers are barely making $18 an hour but parents are paying from $800 to $1100 a week for daycare

Exactly and each year we have to pay a registration fee for kids who have already been there for $275 and an extra $100 for a backpack with their name on it plus $1570 a month. And around that time she’s always gone for about a month on vacation. It’s ridiculous

It’s $3000 a month to have one baby in my class. I have 10 babies right now (which is over ratio). My school is making $30,000 a month of my class alone and I’m only make about $2500 a month.

The owners are spending it lavishly. And refuse to pay their staff a living wage. I know one. She owns 7 days cares. Just bought a Lamborghini truck.

i used to get paid $17 hourly and each child’s tuition was about $600 weekly depending on their age and supply fees with about 300-400 kids enrolled both full and part time, two teachers per classroom.

Funny how daycares in churches don’t have to pay rent, but cost as much as other daycares. And pay is even lower than corporate daycares because you are doing it “for the Lord”

As a former Childcare Center Director, yes, this is a huge issue. HUGE! It does cost quite a bit to run the center but there is sooo much greed involved, as I’m sure you suspect. If so, you’d be correct!✅

I was a preschool teacher too and had the same beef... this is why we gotta bring back at home daycares. In my experience, theyre smaller, better care, more personable and the money goes straight to the sitter not a corporation.

I worked in daycare (Montessori, Primerose, Goddard school) for 7 years when I was fresh out of highschool, the owners lived VERY LAVISHLY and the employees were maxed at $12 per hour after 5 plus years if they were lucky.
