When Henry VIII broke communion with the Pope in the 1530s, the Church of England became separate from the Catholic Church. It retained some Catholic traditions and forms of worship, but it became a distinct Christian tradition.

I have huge admiration for this Man of God However I need to say this to refocus the position. Henry VIII was not Head of The Church in England before The Break away. The Pope in Rome was the Head of The Church everywhere on earth, including in England then . There can't be 2 Popes.The Bishop of England can't be Pope, neither the English King . The Pope is Head of the One and Only Church Jesus founded upon St Peter. Henry assumed Headship of the breakaway Church in England that he did not claim before ( reserved for the Pope in Rome). Henry wanted an annulment not a divorce. He asked for one. The Pope found the marriage in order and could not grant an annulment as being against God's Law. The foundation of all Truth is the Church. Which one. The one Christ founded on St Peter

King Henry was never head of Catholic church, Jesus was the head of Catholic church from start to today. Jesus told Peter and I tell you, you are Peter and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. Anglican and rest of churches after Catholic are not Catholics for they do not preach the principles of the Catholic church Jesus has established.

The Foundation is not The Bible, believe it or not. it's The Church. Not a denomination, but THE One Church Christ Himself founded while still walking on earth. If your " Church" was formed after the Ascension of Christ it's merely one of over 44000 denominations and counting . Not the Church founded by Jesus Himself acting personally dealing with the Apostles. The Catholic Church was never founded by a mere Mortal, not by a Pope and not by a Roman Emperor. That is why it does not bear a person's name like Luther, Lutheran, Wesley, Wesleyan. The Catholic Church never broke away from any Church as there was none other before it. Catholic means for all. Christ died for all.

Does it mean before this Man started preaching there was no christisnity on earth. He suggests he alone is correct. Imagine!! . If he was born say in 1940 est, Christianity was already 1940 years on earth. So what of those who died before he started preaching. Were they all lost? I never thought I would have to correct him on such basics after he died
