Theoretically and electronically, the schematic is correct and functional. However, in practice, it won't be very effective for charging modern smartphones for specific reasons: A 9V battery supplies the circuit with a constant voltage. The voltage regulator (LM7805) reduces the voltage from 9V to a constant 5V, which is the standard voltage required by a USB port to charge phones. A 10uF 16V capacitor smooths and stabilizes the voltage at the output. The USB port outputs 5V on both the positive and negative terminals to charge the phone. Why is this method impractical in reality? A typical 9V battery has a capacity of only 300 to 500 mAh./ cont./

A modern smartphone battery typically has a capacity of 4000 to 5000 mAh. Even if the circuit were 100% efficient, it would only charge the phone to 3% to 5% before the battery would be completely drained. The LM7805 is a linear voltage regulator. To reduce the voltage from 9V to 5V, it converts the excess 4V directly into heat. This causes the regulator to overheat and may burn out or malfunction if a heatsink is not installed. Modern phones require specific connections on their data pins (D+/D-) to ensure the charger is safe and to determine the charging speed. The schematic only connects the positive and negative (+ and -) pins, and some phones may refuse to charge or charge very slowly (less than 0.5 amps). Therefore: The circuit is valid and suitable for emergency situations or educational science experiments, but it is not practical for charging a phone today. The best alternative is to use a portable power bank that uses modern digital voltage regulators (buck converters) and high-capacity batteries.

So ein Blödsinn. Ein 9V-Block verfügt gerade einmal über 200-300mAh. D.h. aufgrund von 9V lassen sich max. 450mAh laden.
