Please I need advice … I m very committed in my job . Okay I’m a bartender which is running a bar on my own. Always helpful and taking shifts from colleagues who needed time off holidays etc .7days in a row 50/60 hrs a week .. I asked my boss last minute 2 days off I need it . He gave it to me but said normally I would fire someone who’s doing this last minute because the bar has to close .. I worked non stop I’m tired🥺

I’m currently covering 2 major roles that are vacant, on top of my own job that I didn’t receive full training on. No extra pay. No extra hours. Zero appreciation. And more and more keeps being added. To say I’m exhausted is an understatement. I’m currently seeking other employment while struggling to survive mentally.

I let my attitude shine through… People kept expecting me to act like a manager to the crew when I am not even paid that salary, & neither is my job. And look how peaceful it became for me!!

Yessssss!! I totally backed off. It’s been two years now. And the two bullies are running to my boss to tell him that I’m not being a team player, that I’m not being flexible with my hours, (wtf) And whatever else it is to make me look bad. But when I ask my boss, he can’t tell me anything specific. And I’m like I can’t fix anything. I don’t know what’s wrong and you’re not giving me specifics. You’re giving me something very generic and who knows when it even happened. I think they’re trying to piss me off to get me to leave.

I learned that lesson a long time ago and I found that it's actually better if you never start that cycle to begin with. I do a good job but I do my actual job and nothing more. If you wanna call it the bare minimum or not a team player that's fine, but I have just found that there's really no payoff and it actually works against you in the end. I don't run myself into the ground for an hourly wage.

yep this is true. I just got fired after working for a place for 9 years for "poor performance". I already knew the supervisor I had who just got the position a year ago was gunning for me to lose my job because he's a narcissistic, chauvinistic pig who loves his ego trips. we did good it was all him when we didn't do so well it was either my fault or the one other employees fault. he had 2 people working for him and couldn't even manage them.
