Decided to explore and take a train trip from Fontana to the Santa Monica Pier Skipping the freeway traffic and parking headaches allowed us to explore Southern California’s transit system. Thank you Lord! Trip Overview & Route Departure Point: Fontana Metrolink Station. Leg 1 (Metrolink San Bernardino Line): Board the commuter train at Fontana Station and ride it all the way west to LA Union Station. Leg 2 (LA Metro A Line): At Union Station, we ride the A line to Pico Station. Leg 3 (LA Metro E Line): From Pico we ride E line to Santa Monica At Downtown Santa Monica Station, we were just a short walk to the Santa Monica Pier! Fares & Weekend Perks $10 SoCal Day Pass: On Saturdays and Sundays, adults can purchase Metrolink's $10 Weekend Day Pass. This grants unlimited train rides across the entire network for that day. Kids Ride Free: Up to three children (ages 17 and under) can ride for FREE with every fare-paying adult on weekends. Free Transfers: Your Metrolink ticket acts as a universal day pass for connecting transit. It covers your transfer to the LA Metro E Line, as well as local LA Metro buses, Big Blue Bus, and other local transit networks without paying an additional fare. Tips for First-Timers Passes: Buy your $10 SoCal Day Pass via the Metrolink Mobile App or at the Fontana station ticket machines before boarding. Boarding: Simply scan the barcode on your physical or mobile Metrolink ticket at the turnstiles when transferring to the LA Metro E Line at Union Station. Schedules: Double-check weekend train departure times on the Metrolink schedule ahead of time, as weekend train intervals run less frequently than weekday commuter trains. #AuthenticMatter #CaliforniaFamilyVlog #SantaMonicaPier #Metrolink #LAMetro
