I was in my final 2 weeks of Basic Training at FT Jackson SC on this day. I'll never forget Drill Sgt Cooper walked in and said on the radio they just announced Tupac was shot last night and died. That was the first time I felt the pain of losing a celebrity I loved. I saw the bay go silent, me and my bunk mate had tears in our eyes. as if he had said we lost family.
