@wewill2026: Michiganders want a federal moratorium on data centers. On Tuesday, I gave a public comment to oppose Project Flex – a hyperscale data center proposed in the heart of Lyon Township. Hyperscale data centers like this one threaten water and air quality, energy pricing, and quality of life for families nearby. My opponent, Tom Barrett, says that decisions around these data centers should be left to “local control.” And that’s exactly what his corporate donors want him to say: he will leave our towns vulnerable to Big Tech bullies. Residents applauded a federal moratorium. They're fed up with BOTH parties leaving them to fight Big Tech giants on their own. In Congress, I will call for a one year federal moratorium on data centers. I am committed to standing with Mid-Michiganders to protect our towns from data centers. Tom Barrett is nowhere to be found. #wewill2026
I wish more politicians were willing to stand with their constituents like this

MaRpH :
building that bridge and showing the board is caught up in it too probably helped the people present place a lot of their anger appropriately at the project as opposed to the board.
