The only data centers we should accept are government owned data centers. If there’s money to be made then let’s make it and that way we know the data will be safer than in the hands of corporations. Meta data centers meant for collecting data that they resell for profit should definitely not be build in Canada.

I've been shouting from the beginning that these data centers are not for what they're claiming. I know what they actually need them for, but because it has a lot to do with the I country, I can't just spill it out here. Do not allow any more datacenters to be built. If they are built, don't let them put the gear in it. Seriously, these are a bigger problem than water usage.

The big 5 tech companies, Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon and Meta are nearing $2 trillion in debt from building these data centres. The big question is, what are they planning or hoping to have happen that makes them justify such a massive amount of their own debt to continue building these facilities.

I am thinking the true point of the data centres is data collection. basically model providers will lease the hardware and then all the users are dumping all this info through it which then allows the data centre to harvest and then use for whatever purposes they want. Likely with the hope to sell to marketing, shadow brokers or the gov't when they go full surveillance
