@oliverknott2020: A 2-cm macro crab sitting in macroalgae (by 燕子🇨🇳) The Candy Crab, Hoplophrys oatesii 🍬🦀 This tiny Candy Crab was found in the Hainan region of China. Hoplophrys oatesii is a small Indo Pacific crab that usually lives among soft corals, especially Dendronephthya. Its pink, red, white and orange colours closely match its host, making the crab incredibly difficult to spot. Even better, it can attach tiny pieces of its host coral to its body, turning camouflage into something close to a living disguise. The spines and bumps on its shell help break up its outline even further. #HoplophrysOatesii #CandyCrab #MarineLife #OceanCreatures #ReefTank
