Samsung electronics and Samsung display divisions are different. Apple isn’t going to Samsung and buying something that already existed off the shelf. Apple has created a custom stackup, where one layer is the actual display panel. But all the adhesives, polymers, digitizer, etc. are custom, including the display driver (the electronics that actually control the panel). So yes, Samsung manufacturers the screen assembly (using Apple specs, design, chips, etc.) and this is always the case with all of Apples displays with whichever display manufacturer they use. And that is why it is always a stupid argument and shows lack of understanding of how the industry actually works 💀
