one time I went to the movies theatre because I was depressed and lonely and I was the only person in the whole theater for the whole movie!! I cried even more! 😳

Its cuz everyones with somebody. As a loner, i tried doing things alone to feel better but it just made me feel worse seeing how everyone was always in a group or with their partner

One summer I signed up for seven community classes across art, culture, home improvement, and athletics to put myself out there and meet more like-minded friends. In every single one, I was either the only person who showed up or all the other people there were like a family of five celebrating their dad‘s birthday.

One year my New Year’s resolution was to get out and experience new things in my town. The first thing I did was to see a local production of Chicago. The play was amazing but it was a small theater and I was literally the only person there who was alone. My resolution only lasted for about 4 outings. I felt more alone than ever because it was painfully obvious I was by myself and I didn’t have anyone to talk to about whatever it was. Part of the fun of doing things is experiencing then with friends or family. I felt less lonely by myself at home in my recliner binging tv shows so that’s what I did.

This is why I started volunteering at events. I've met more people that way instead of just going to the event alone and twiddling my thumbs awkwardly.

I went to a concert alone and people kept coming to my row and then leaving to another and was like wow I’m repelling people. In reality it was just an obstructed view past where I was standing lol
