My husband and I had a similar journey. We got married after only seven months of being together.
He met me here in the Philippines. Although he is Filipino, he grew up and was raised in the United States and is now residing there. We first met at a wedding where I was the singer. He flew to the Philippines for that wedding because it was his brother’s special day, and little did we know that it would also become the beginning of our own love story.
At that time, we didn’t have feelings for each other yet. But my husband later confessed that he already had a crush on me the moment he saw me sing at the wedding.
A week after the wedding, we met again. It was supposed to be a thank-you treat from his brother and sister for me, but while we were on the way, the rain came, and they decided not to continue. Since we were already there, the two of us decided to spend the evening together instead. We ended up having a simple karaoke night and eating at a local turo-turo. That simple moment became the start of something unexpected.
After a month of talking and getting to know each other, he decided that he wanted to pursue me seriously. He flew back to the United States two days after we met, but in December of 2024, he returned to the Philippines with the intention of making me his wife.
Now, we are almost two years married, and I truly believe that love is not measured by how long you have known someone. Sometimes, it is about God’s timing, His will, and the story He has already written for us.
Our journey may have happened quickly, but it was built on faith, commitment, and the decision to choose each other every day. God bless you guys and stay strong!!!💓
