Part 1: Deputies Break Woman’s Window During Vehicle Repossession : On October 28, 2024, at 12:48 hours, a law enforcement officer responded to a location in West Palm Beach, Florida, following a civil dispute reported by a towing company regarding an unidentified woman who was refusing to exit a vehicle scheduled for repossession. The officer was operating an unmarked patrol vehicle equipped with external lights and sirens and was wearing a tactical vest clearly identifying them as a law enforcement officer. Upon arrival, the officer met the complainant from the towing company, who indicated that while driving through a parking lot, he observed a black Land Rover with a Florida license plate that required repossession. After reviewing the appropriate documentation, the officer confirmed the vehicle's VIN and license plate matched the paperwork. The officer learned that the woman had entered the vehicle and was refusing to exit. The officer approached the vehicle and observed a single female occupant in the driver's seat. The officer explained that she needed to vacate the vehicle as it was being repossessed. The woman repeatedly insisted that she would not leave and claimed there were no legal grounds for the towing, despite the fact that the vehicle was not registered in her name. The officer issued several verbal commands for her to exit the vehicle, which she ignored. The vehicle's doors were locked, and due to her refusal to comply, the officer approached the front passenger window and used a baton to strike the window three times, ultimately breaking it to gain access and unlock the door. At this point, a corporal was at the driver's door and was able to remove the woman from the vehicle. After she was removed, the officer attempted to place her in handcuffs, but she actively resisted by pulling her body and arms away and refused to comply with verbal commands to stop resisting. After a brief struggle, the officer and the corporal successfully handcuffed her. Based on the investigation, probable cause was established to charge the woman with trespassing for refusing to exit the repossessed vehicle and resisting without violence for not complying with multiple commands to exit the vehicle#cops #fyp #police
