Scans from an independent local surgeon revealed a full maxillary non-union: his maxilla was literally floating, supported only by scar tissue alongside misplaced implants and severe asymmetry. A major issue here lies in the custom design process: Relying heavily on pre-planned custom workflows can allow poor surgical designs to go unquestioned, resulting in compromised stability, even if the operating surgeon follows the template.
