I’m a army carat atiny and my heart breaks for anyone who has to be forced into the military. People were literally calling scoups a military evader then comparing yoongi’s shoulder injury to his complete acl tear. Both are my bias so it pissed me off beyond belief the hate people were sending this man.

The way they first made fun of DK for showing vulnerability to fans who he has a deep bond with, then move to Hoshi wishing him the worst is so crazy. They also did it to Scoups way back 2024 after he tore his ACL. Calling him evader after he underwent assessment and was seen not fit to serve. And their reason is ‘my faves suffered so yours should too’ is such an evil logic

No for real! Multiple K-pop artists have not been the same after they came back from their service; like it can be so traumatic. A Korean YouTuber talked about how he was a witness to SA, he wasn’t even sure if it was-it was, while in the military.

THIS! People laughing at military service is so cruel because it can be so brutal and hard on the people who have to do it. I feel like people laugh at idols because they don't see idols as real people because its like they forget that the forceful enlistment also affects normal everyday citizens, like my friend has to do it in a couple of months and I'm really scared for him. Some people are genuinely so cruel

i went to paju, the city bordering north korea and there are many military stationed there, LOTS of them are from the mandatory service. the boy who checked my passport said he has just turned 18 after i said he looked so young, we chatted a bit and turns out he had to choose university or service. i almost cried, he'll be in his first year of university when he's 20/21 - his friends are likely to be employed by then.

from what I've seen a lot of ppl just know military service is a thing in south korea. they don't think any deeper abt why, or abt what the effects are, or the ethics of forcing someone to enlist. they just know it's a thing their male favs will have to do and that's where it ends
