I lost my long distance girlfriend last month, she was only 42. There were numerous reasons why we were in a long distance relationship for several years. However people don’t understand why I’m still shattered to pieces because of her passing, because she was “only a long distance girlfriend”. I think it’s called disenfranchised grief, it’s terrible.

100% this .I had said to me because my mum was 89 in March when she died well you are lucky she had a good long life Her childhood was horrendous and her adult life was good but she battled everything so yes she had a long life but it wasn't good .Whether she was 29 or 89 I'd feel the same ...sad .

🥰 I had people avoid me or speaking to me when my son 👦 passed and I cut them out my life as I felt I didn’t want to know them after that. I understand it’s difficult to know what to say but sometimes just how are you doing goes a long way when people are grieving 🥰🥰🥰

Phew, a friend lost her husband last week and I saw her a couple of days ago. I wasn’t sure I’d said the right things, but luckily I didn’t come close to any of those. I think I got it right, thankyou. xxx
