Understand that it's VERY important to be liked. No matter how well you think that you're doing your job, you must be liked. Two and Three degrees mean absolutely nothing to execs, if they don't like you. They rather promote the person that they do like without the multiple degrees as long as a license is not required. If a license/ certification is required, they will send the person to school and create a position for them for higher pay until they complete school.

The reason they don’t like me is because I dress well and am confident. I won’t change those things so I’m applying outside the company 🤷🏽♀️. I’m just going to give each job 2-4 years at this point and make sure each move is a step up in title and salary until I am in a place where I can start my own business. It’s mind numbing having to pretend all these meetings aren’t just buzz word salad and do all this water cooler talk for people who aren’t going to like me to matter how much of a team player, polite, professional or respectful I am.

At one of my internships towards the end of Covid, it became very causal because a lot of people were hybrid and one intern kept begging to wear a suit even tho NOOOO one else we had met the entire time wore one bc it jus stopped being a thing and someone had to tell him sometimes it’s better to not stand out🌝
