One of the craziest things about the Colleen Stan case is that the people who kidnapped her—a married couple, actually took her to visit her family once, and she didn't tell them what was going on. She was even left alone with her family. And she went back with them to be held captive for several more years afterwards until the wife finally let her go. She was that terrified and brainwashed. There is a lifetime movie about it called Girl in the Box.

I watched a 2016 movie titled, “Girl in the Box” based on the case of Colleen Stan and it made me very uneasy and uncomfortable to sit through. I never rewatched after seeing it that one time.
