the best thing i ever did was accept that debt is just another bill. there is a payoff date. stop taking out debt and pay it down. Time passes either way. you can budget in fun and life and eventually...no debt 😏

This is the same conclusion I came to in the last 6 months. I was treating my debt like an emergency yet felt like I was making no progress. Why? Because I was throwing so much cash at debt to "get out quicker" that when unexpected life expenses happened, guess where all my money was? Tied up in credit card payments! This meant things ended up back on a card and I was even further in the hole than before. Now, I've accepted that I'm going to take longer to pay off debt, but actually have room to breathe in my budget so it's a good trade off

I've told my parents that yes, my debt scares me and stresses me out, but I also refuse to miss out on life, especially with my teenager. I want to make memories together and sometimes that requires money we don't have.
